For a large Dutch naval shipyard, I created a cinematic animation of a naval vessel operating at sea, featuring a fully simulated ocean and detailed whitewater effects.
The vessel, drone, and helicopter were provided as CAD models, which required extensive preparation before they could be used in a production-quality pipeline. I handled the full model cleanup process, including repairing geometry, closing open surfaces, optimizing topology, UV unwrapping, and texturing.
All asset fixes, UVs, textures, and animations were completed in Maya, ensuring the models were animation-ready and suitable for high-quality rendering.
The ocean surface and whitewater simulations were created in Houdini, using procedural workflows to achieve realistic scale, motion, and interaction with the vessel.
Lighting and rendering were done in Houdini Solaris, allowing for a physically accurate look and efficient scene management.
This project showcases my ability to bridge CAD-based assets with VFX and animation pipelines, combining technical problem-solving with cinematic presentation.
